Golf is a delicate game of balance and skill and to be able to find this balance you need to have the right golf club in your hands. And each shot is different and to have the right golf club in your had each time you are going to need a whole set of clubs right? If you are new to the game of golf then you might not have realized just how important the right golf club is to your game but the sooner that you figure this out the better your game will be.
If you are a beginner golfer then you might do better with a golf club that has more flexibility to it. As you improve and your golf swing gets stronger and harder you can then think about switching to a golf club with less flexibility. This flexibility is appropriately called the shaft flex and it really does vary from golf club to golf club and it is very key to the amount of control you will have over the ball.
The golf club and really the entire golf club set that you choose will be influenced by how good a player you are so far. Different ability levels require different golf clubs, this is just a simple fact of the game. Having the right golf club will help you to learn as a much faster and more efficient, not to mention fun, rate.
Do you have a low handicap, a mid handicap or a high handicap? You need to find this out in order to get the right golf club for you and your game. If you are a low handicap player then you are looking at under ten strokes over par, a mid handicap player is 11-20 and high is well over 100. If you still don’t know what I am talking about then you will want to talk to a pro at the golf course that you regularly go to. He or she should be able to help you find a good golf club for your game, any hey, you might even get some great pro tips at the same time. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!
Choosing the right golf club for you and your game is important if you want to improve on your golf game. This is one game that is not entirely about practice, while you still need to practice having the right golf club can make these practices much more enjoyable for you and for those around you.

Sitting as very close neighbours to each other on this stretch of Kent coast (Eng) are three golf courses which have hosted The Open championship - Royal St Georges, Royal Cinque Ports and Prince’s. Only Royal St Georges is on the current Open championship rosta, but the other two golf courses are still wonderful exemplars of English links golf.
Royal St George’s Golf Club one of the top rated links courses in England, and certainly a course to relish on your first and subsequent visits. Frequent host to the Open Championship, the golf course is always presented in immaculate condition, and provides a true test of links golf. Hazards come in the form of the subtlety of the layout itself, numerous pot bunkers, and some very memorable sand traps, not least the deepest bunker in UK golf, which looms large from the tee at the long par-4 4th hole. Deep rough lies in wait beyond the good-width fairways and on one or two holes, notably at the fabulous par-5 14th, OB also has to be reckoned with. For anyone wanting to play the great links courses of Great Britain and Ireland, this is one not to miss.
Royal St George’s was the Open Championship venue on 12 occasions and host to numerous other big tournaments including Walker Cups and Curtis Cups. In 2004 Golf Monthly (in association with HSBC) ranked this golf course the 17th best course in UK & Ireland while Golf World ranked it the 12th best course Where2Golf.com lists this course amongst the Top Golf Courses in the UK.
Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club, or Deal as its also known, is one of England’s most authentic and natural links. The flattish terrain is full of bumps, mounds and hollows (not least on the fairways), creating interest on every hole, as well as a few blind and semi-blind tee and approach shots. Digging your way out of the rough is difficult enough, while avoiding and escaping from the numerous steep faced bunkers will thoroughly test your course management and golfing skills. With wonderful greens and sea-views on the front-nine, this is a fabulous golf course for all links enthusiasts, although perhaps a tough one for higher-handicappers.
Royal Cinque Ports was a former Open Championship venue on 2 occasions (1909 and 1920). In 2004 Golf Monthly (in association with HSBC) ranked this golf course the 117th best course in UK / Ireland while Golf World ranked it 44th. Where2Golf.com lists this course amongst the Top Golf Courses in England
Prince’s, on offer at Prince’s are 27-holes of very good links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is the illustrious Royal St George’s course, but Prince’s is far from overshadowed. The gentle dunes, fine layout of the 3-nines and usually excellent greens will bring a smile of satisfaction to all links golfers, although the general maintenance of the tee-boxes and fairways are not quite on a par with the Royal neighbour. The Shore and Dunes nines seem to fit together the best, although many officianados advocate the Shore-Himalayas combination. Our view is the Dunes is perhaps the most interesting layout, with an excellent and challenging first hole and many fine links holes after that. Probably best to fit in all 27 on your visit ! Views of the English Channel and Pegwell Bay are “complemented” in the other direction by the nearby (but disused) power station and Pfizer’s UK research headquarters.
Prince’s has been a former Open Championship venue on 1 occasion in 1932 (winner : Gene Sarazen). Curtis Cup venue : 1956 (GB&I 5, USA 4).

This fabulous layout is one of the world’s great golf courses; understandably it is often ranked No.1 in continental Europe. Always immaculately maintained, Trent Jones’ superb design winds its way over gently undulating terrain, through a former forest of cork-oak trees. These wonderful old trees can seriously block your way to the green if tee-shots are wayward, on several occasions you’ll need to flight your approach shots over them to land safely on the lightning fast greens. Just missing the putting surfaces will not help your score - around the greens is thick grass (like chipping out of wire wool), as well as slick and sloping aprons that front the greens and plenty of bunkering.
If you can safely negotiate the front-nine (and maybe birdie the famous par-5 4th ! - La Cascada), the back-nine will put your game through an even tougher examination. The golf course opens out at the par-5 11th to reveal spectacular views over the Mediterranean (and more wind exposure), before closing in again, with a fabulous finish. Most dangerous of all on the closing stretch are the infamous deadly duo - the par-4 16th and par-5 17th - how many rounds have foundered at one or both of these challenging holes ? You will be hard pressed to shoot your handicap on a first or subsequent visit, but Valderrama is more about treading the hallowed (and springy) turf and, for a few hours at least, being in one of golf’s most special places.
Club de Golf Valderrama, originally known as the Sotogrande New Course and then Las Aves (The Birds), hosted a thrilling Ryder Cup in 1997 when Europe prevailed over the USA team 14.5 pts to 13.5. It has also hosted WGC Amex World Stroke Play Championships and is regular host to the Volvo Masters, which traditionally closes the European Tour season.
